I have been an active photographer for nearly as long as I can remember. While I have always taken photographs of family and friends, most of my work was “focused” on landscapes and nature. Since moving to Bloomington, Indiana four years ago I have been using my experience to expand into portrait, wedding and special event photography. My images have been used in Bloom Magazine and entered into photography contests. In May of 2009 I had the opportunity to be a staff photographer for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Photo Department at various Indianapolis 500 related events. I also volunteered as a photographer for the Sycamore Land Trust for their fund-raising and special events and have helped the Lakeview Elementary School PTO by photographing their recent auction.
Portrait, Family and Special Event Photography Pricing
The creative fee for a general portrait session is $50.00 for an individual, $100 for a family and $150.00 for an extended family or group (more than four individuals). I have special packages for Mothers-to-be as well as for Baby's First Year. The cost of prints varies but, in general, 5x7 and smaller is $17.50, 8x10 and 8x12 are $25.00, 16x20 are $75.00 and 20x24 are $175.00. All printing is done by a professional service I use and trust and all prints 5x7 or larger come in a variety of finishes and matted. Larger sizes and canvas printing are available. Additional prints of the same photo of the same size are priced at 75% of these fees.
Prices for maternity, baby, family, high school senior, sports and other sessions have a large range in fees dependent upon your needs and desires. In addition, there are special circumstances in which I waive some or all of my creative fees, e.g., senior citizens living in retirement or assisted care homes, immediate family members of active duty military personnel serving abroad, and individuals who are in Hospice care all receive a significant discount.
My preference is to do all portrait sessions at a location of your choice rather than my home studio in order to make the photograph more meaningful to you. By default this means there will be travel involved. While there is no charge for travel within Monroe County, if your session is elsewhere (Hawaii or the Bahamas would be great!), there may be travel expenses.
